FUNDING
Young Hammersmith & Fulham are pleased to provide community members access to the funding they need to create meaningful opportunities for young people.
Funding, funding, funding. We’ll say it again one more time, because it’s the word on everyone’s lips in the youth sector - funding.
We know how tough it can be for small charities, CICs and community groups to access the funding they need to deliver their work to young people. Thanks to John Lyons Charity, Young Hammersmith & Fulham is able to connect local organisations with funding and support to turn ideas into impact.
Each year, we distribute grants to grassroots organisations, community groups, and charities working with young people in Hammersmith & Fulham. In 2025, we provided:
£30,000 to supplementary schools across the borough, supporting young people from underrepresented backgrounds, including Somali, Arabic, and Polish communities, by enhancing access to education.
£50,000 in small grants via our Young Grant Makers to small and medium-sized non-profits, helping them sustain and grow their work with young people.
£67,000 to local voluntary youth organisations via the Addison Youth fund
Who Decides?
Many funding decisions in the youth sector are made without the input of young people. At Young Hammersmith & Fulham, we are committed to equity-driven work and believe that young people should have a say in the decisions that affect them. Our Small Grants funding is therefore allocated by our trained Young Grant Makers.
The Young H&F Grantmakers Programme puts funding power directly into the hands of young people, giving them the opportunity to make key decisions that impact youth organisations across Hammersmith & Fulham. By putting young people at the heart of the process, we ensure that funding supports the projects and services that matter most to them.
Young H&F’s Grant-making Principles
We understand the importance of funding organisations in an open and trusting way, which is why Young H&F is proud to be signed up to the Institute for Voluntary Action Research’s (IVAR) eight grant-making commitments. Young H&F regularly reflects on its grant-making practice to ensure that it remains fair, transparent and responsive to the needs of our community.
CURRENT FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES
Applications for Addison Youth Grants are now closed. Our next funding opportunity will be our Small Grants and will take place in September 2026. Only voluntary sector organisations in the Young H&F membership are eligible for grants.
